Meet Anne

Miss Anne Henderson is a Consultant Gynaecologist and one of a select group of British Menopause Advanced Specialists in the UK. The British Menopause Society accredits highly-qualified healthcare professionals who demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of Menopause and HRT.

With over 35 years of clinical experience, Anne is renowned as the ‘Gynae Expert’, providing high-quality healthcare to her patients and trusted health information in the mainstream media, on social media and online via her website gynae-expert.co.uk. Anne uses a holistic approach to women’s health and menopause care; she was commissioned by Dorling Kindersley to produce a comprehensive holistic guide to the menopause and her book, “Natural Menopause”, was published in March 2021 to excellent reviews

Anne has a passion for training and teaches fellow Gynaecologists, GPs and Practice Nurses throughout the South East. Now she has developed The Amara Clinic to provide bespoke health and menopause care in a beautiful, safe, private space in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells. She has hand-picked a highly skilled team of medical experts and other healthcare professionals, she supports and works with her team to fulfil her vision of providing exceptional healthcare to women throughout their reproductive lives, during perimenopause and menopause and beyond.

In her role as Owner and Director of The Amara Clinic, patient care is personally overseen by Anne at all times.

Meet Gail

Dr Gail Ball graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1994 and undertook her GP training throughout the South East. Gail has over 18 years’ experience in the NHS and during her career, she has developed a special interest and expertise in all areas of Women’s Health including management of heavy or painful periods and menstrual irregularities, contraception including coil fitting, menopause management, genital prolapse and vulval and vaginal symptoms.

She shares the vision of The Amara Clinic and understands the importance of helping women maintain their health and wellbeing during the menopause and beyond.

Meet Jacqueline

Dr Jacqueline Brickley graduated from St Andrews University with a BSc. in Medical Science and qualified as a doctor in 1999 from Manchester University. She trained as a GP in London in 2004 gaining her MRCGP. Jacqueline graduated with a diploma in Sport and Exercise medicine from UCL in 2007 and worked with Paralympics GB and at the World University Games in 2009 alongside her GP role.

She developed an interest in PMS and menopause over recent years and is passionate about supporting women through this period. She is a member of the British Menopause Society and is working towards completing her Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care.

Jackqueline-Brickley

Meet Sasha

Dr Sasha Humphries is a Consultant in Interventional Radiology at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and Consultant Radiologist at The Amara Clinic.

Dr Sasha Humphries gained a MA from the University of Oxford before completing her MBBS at King’s College London Medical School. She underwent specialist radiology training at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals in London and completed subspecialty posts at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and The Royal Marsden Hospital.

Dr Humphries completed Interventional Radiology fellowships at The Royal London Hospital and at St Mary’s, Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals attaining competences in an extensive range of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures. Before moving to work in Kent, she was Consultant in Interventional Radiology at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals.

She specialises in diagnostic and interventional radiology. At The Amara Clinic, Sasha will be performing and interpreting ultrasound scans in the clinic’s own scanning suite. With her expertise and experience, she offers patients outstanding care and accurate diagnostics for a healthier future.

Meet Leela

Dr Leela Thangavelu graduated from Bangalore University in 2000. She completed her GP vocational (GPVTS) training in the London Deanery in 2010. During her GP training she completed the Diploma of the Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health (DFRSH) and underwent practical training in coil insertion.

Since qualification, Leela has pursued her interest in women’s health as a GP practitioner and menopause expert. She holds a British menopause certificate and is a member of the British Menopause Society

Leela believes in a holistic, empathetic, and individualised approach to each and every patient. She is delighted to join The Amara Clinic team to continue learning and providing exceptional care to women.
