FAQs
Arranging an outpatient consultation for medical reasons can be stressful and gynaecological issues are particularly sensitive. We understand that this can be a daunting process, and the team are available to help with all aspects of the consultation process, including liaising with insurers if appropriate.
The entire team who will be treating you is female, including the clinic nurses and the herbalist linked to the practice. A female chaperone is always available if you wish to have someone present during the consultation and examination process. Finally, a female Consultant Radiologist is always available for any ultrasound and imaging procedures required.
It is important that you discuss medical insurance cover with the Amara Clinic Team before an appointment is confirmed. It will be necessary to contact your insurer to obtain an authorisation code to confirm the consultation, but not all major insurers cover menopause treatment. The Clinic Team will be happy to advise you regarding this.
If the insurance company requires any additional information then the team will be happy to advise accordingly, including cost of treatment, procedure codes and so on. Miss Henderson and the Amara Clinic are recognised by all major insurers for the purposes of medical treatment and investigation.
The Amara Clinic, in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells is our main location where the medical team, healthcare practitioners and the administrative team are based. Miss Henderson currently also practises at Kimms Hospital in Kent at at No. 25 Harley Street in London and also carries out procedures at these locations. The Amara Clinic Team can provide further information and the full details of the clinic locations are provided on the website.
